When leaving the table during dinner to visit the restroom, simply excuse yourself. You don’t need to announce your intentions. Place your napkin on the seat or back of the chair. Return the napkin to your lap upon returning to the table. The napkin never returns to the table until the very end of dinner when everyone is leaving.
